It is finished...

Fatality!!! *smile*

My new blog is hosted at my main server URL at Change out this blog for that one. I won't be writing here anymore.

While You're Waiting...

...for me to finalize my new blog, take a look at the wedding pictures Julia posted from this weekend. I took most of the shots (except for the ones of myself). I must say, I'm pretty damn good.

To Say Farewell...

I just got done writing a decent-sized blog post, only to hit "publish post" and have my post get zapped. At first chance, I will be finishing my blog template on my own server. Blogger is starting to get on my nerves.

Feeling Better...

Well, I'm feeling a little better about Carolina moving on to the Stanley Cup Finals now that they've got a 2-0 lead in the series. It validates that they were worthy of beating an injury-laden Sabres. Can't help but think what things would be like if the Sabres were healthy for the Carolina series, but that's of no use now. Carolina won the first game 5-4 and dominated the second game 5-0. I guess I can consider them a team that's for real...for now.

Thanks for a brilliant season...

Since I'm busy today, I'll let the guys over at Bfloblog speak for me. Their words are my words. All I have to say right now is thanks to Lindy Ruff and the warriors of the Buffalo Sabres for a great show this year. In my opinion, this team was even more fun to watch than the days of the one-man-show, Dom Hasek. The entire team played their hearts out and for that I'm appreciative.

This team put every game, win or lose, behind them to concentrate on the next game. I can't help but believe they already put game seven of the conference finals behind them and are looking to game one of next season. True class.

Old School Meets New School...

I remember the very first time I saw Royce Gracie in an Ultimate Fighting match. It was the first time they aired an Ultimate Fighting program. It WAS the very first Ultimate Fight.

To those of us that understand that the sport is more than just beating the crap out of each other. That it is a chess match. A test of mixed martial arts fighting styles. That the two guys in the ring have been studying their craft for many years. That they know what is on the line. To those of us...tonight will be a great pay-per-view fight between Matt Hughes and Royce Gracie.

Gracie created Ultimate Fighting. Well, that's figurative speech. He built the sport in the ring...not as an organizer. He's undefeated. He showed the rest of us what Ju Jitsu can do to both quick and strong opponents alike. He taught us how to defeat opponents with their own clothing (ah la chocking his opponent with their own gi). He showed us the armlock submission.

Matt Hughes is the current Walterweight Champion with an unprecedented 40-4 record. He is the pinnacle of what the sport is today. Matt can win any fight in one punch. You thought Mike Tyson was good. Please.

Tonight...old school will face new school. No predictions. I'm just going to enjoy this one as someone who's had martial arts in his family his whole life. May the best fighter win.
